What if we want to forward only certain messages from Gmail e.g. forward only those messages that are from a particular sender or forward only those messages that have the word "Official" in the subject line.

Below is the step by step process on how to automatically forward certain Gmail messages.

Automatically forward only certain Gmail messages -

Follow the steps below to forward only a certain type of messages from your gmail account to some other account –

Step 1 :

Create a filter for the type of messages you want to forward.

Step 2 :

While creating the filter, choose the email address to which you want to forward these emails.

Step 3 :

In case you do not see the email address while creating the filter you will first have to turn on automatic forwarding in your account.

Note # The maximum number of filters that you can create for forwarding is 20.

Note # After creating a filter to forward messages, only new messages that arrive in your inbox will be affected by the filter. Older messages will remain unaffected.
